NollyWood: Jim Iyke Arrested in Benin City

Only God knows why this gaggling actor, Jim Iyke believes in settling scores with violence. The other time at 11:45 nightclub, he reportedly said to have beaten up Olisa over a girl. Another report also has it that, he has habits of beaten up his numerous girlfriends on every slightest provocation, Steph Okeke and others will testify to this testament. Recently, weeks before he had fisticuffs with some guys at Junic Hotel in Asaba, the Globacom Brand Ambassador, Jim Iyke, we gathered was arrested in Benin Airport few hours after abandoning a movie set in Asaba.

A couple of weeks before now, Jim Iyke was said to have being beaten up for same attitude in Kastina State during a film shooting and while he’s yet to redeem his dented image on his many controversies, Wednesday 19th may 2010 he left some of his scenes unattended to, headed to the Airport with a reason that he had to conduct an audition for his own film in Abuja. www.nigeriafilms.com scooped.

Mercy Johnson, Van Vicker, Nora Robert are a few of the actors that are posses with this kind of attitude and have once or twice abandoned location and rendered the shooting of that day useless. Other stars in the movie were said to have all registered their disappointments at the silly attitude Jim put up but for the intervention of the director and the executive producer who took off immediately to the nearest Airport in Benin with some Policemen and repatriated him back to the location in Asaba other actors too would have done same.

“It was a very disgraceful scene as people including airport officials gather to rescue him from their grip. Police and other security agents intervened to settle their brouhaha amicably. Nollywood: Mike Ezuruonye Wedding Photos

The city of Mbano in Imo State last Saturday came alive when the Nollywood superstar, Mike Ezuruonye hooked former Miss Nkechi Nnorom in a traditional marriage that had the impressive gathering of top Nollywood actors and actresses. The handsome actor, Mike who couldn’t hide his joy was overwhelmed with the attendance of his colleagues from all walks of life that converged to felicitate with him. Patience Ozokwor , Nonso Diobi, Omotola Jalade Ekeinde, Uche Jombo, Tonto Dike, Desmond Elliot, Ini Edo, Jackie Appiah, Rukky Sanda, Chioma Chukwuka-Akpotha, Chinedu Ikedieze and Mercy Johnson are a few of the faces that added glamour to the glamorous event. Others include, Julius Agwu, KC Presh, 2Shotz and some up and coming movie idols who all thronged to the wedding venue in a large number.

Mike and Nkechi, according to people in the know, met over two years now when Mike was doing a movie in Abuja. The beautiful bride, Nkechi came to Nigeria on holiday from Canada where she was pursuing a career in Medical Psychology. Interestingly, the house Mike was using as a location turned out to be the godmother’s house and before one could say hello, the cupid arrow called love struck the two loverbirds and the rest has become a history today as they have been joined together as husband and wife.

After months of preparation, all roads led to the bride’s hometown, Mbano in Imo State. The couple’s families as well as their friends all teemed to show their full support. So did the Mbano townsfolk as over 2000 well-wishes and guests graced the ceremony.

The bride, Nkechi was dressed in an embroidered gold dress accessorized with coral beads on her head, around her neck and waist while Mike was in brown and ivory traditional Igbo Isi-agu attire.

The Igba Nkwu Nwanyi was beautifully performed by Nkechi as she navigated through the huge crowd and presented her cup of wine to her love, Mike with a beaming smile. Mike happily received it, took a sip and gave her a romantic hug while grinning from ear to ear.
The rest of the ceremony was all about fun and celebration as Mike’s Mum and siblings along with Nkechi’s family celebrated the marriage of their children.

For Mike’s Mum, Mrs. Ezuruonye, it was an emotional, happy and fulfilling day. Having been widowed when Mike was young, he has always been a great son and done her proud so it was her honour to watch him begin his own family with Nkechi.

The white wedding, we gathered, will take place before the end of this year in Lagos.
